Computer simulation is a key tool in the design and engineering of complex material handling systems.  It is particularly useful for identifying potential bottlenecks and trailing alternatives before a final commitment is made.

Our simulation experts will ensure that the solutions planned will perform to your requirements when implemented.

One key to a successful project is the mechanical design of the system.

The mechanical engineering departments will ensure the correct specification and design of each component, be it from our own factory or from a sub-contractor, and check that they will work together correctly and in conjunction with the building and other interfaces.

The controls engineers' task is to make the system of mechanical elements go live - to turn it into an almost living machine.

They will make sure that all elements work individually, and together in partnership, and ensure that it is a safe place for operators and maintenance staff to work.

IT consultants and programmers will configure your software to meet the functionality of your material handling system in order to provide you with the management information you need to control stock, manage orders and ensure smooth materials flow. They also have the responsibility to ensure that we correctly interface to your own host software, whether to an ERP or host system, external WMS system, or similar.

Functionality generally includes Decision Support tools to assist with operating the system, as well as Performance Management functionality to capture and assess performance achieved.

The role of the Project Manager and their team is to co-ordinate the implementation and the design of the system.

Dematic Project Managers create an implementation programme in conjunction with you and your different functional teams. The Project Manager will also manage costs, changes, the design, and eventually ensure successful acceptance testing and handover of the system.

Customers who have installed a system for the first time will often benefit from operational planning and support.

Dematic specialists can work with you during operational ramp-up for a few months, or more as required, in order that the system operates efficiently as soon as possible.
